We strongly encourage you to read RealPlayer's System Requirements, since your particular hardware and/or operating system configuration (e.g. 680x0 Mac vs. PowerMac; Windows 3.1 vs. 95) can affect which release of the RealPlayer software is best for you.  Generally, the latest release is best, especially if you haven't updated your player recently.  Recent bug fixes and improvements can make a significant difference in playback quality, PARTICULARLY for the latest Macintosh version of RealPlayer, released only a few weeks ago.
